About

I initially trained as an NHS pharmacist and began my professional acting career in 2010 as a mature performer.
As a child, I was frequently on stage, performing in school plays and Brownies, playing the guitar and violin, and singing in the school choir. I grew up in Glasgow and have lived in Edinburgh for many years.
I am now an actress, writer, comedian and producer.
My work uses a distinctly Scottish sense of humour to both challenge and, at times, play with my Scottish Pakistani heritage, exploring the lived experiences of people of Pakistani background across the UK. I have written three plays that premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe and have since toured nationally.
Alongside theatre, I perform stand-up comedy, write short stories, opinion pieces and short plays, and work as an after-dinner speaker. (https://speakout.uk/speaker/lubna-kerr/)
At the heart of everything I do is a love of live performance. Being on stage, entertaining an audience, is where I feel most alive — once it’s in your blood, it never leaves.
